So.... the Laurenjean Show is merging with the Passion to Pod podcast because Laurenjean, that's me, needs to take a chill pill but still wants to do it all!
I'll give you an update on what the heck is going on
How my podcasting journey has increased my confidence: from a lost recently divorced single mom with no self esteem with a 50 hour a week job to lost health coach and now podcaster with MAJOR self confidence and now teaching others they can do the same.
I also cover:
structuring your show/interview
I want to star answering community questions as well and here is the first!
Any tips on structuring an interview? I'm thinking backstory of interviewee, standard Qs for the field, Q's from listeners (pre podcast), then like a lightening round of Q's with quick A's.
Are there any particular questions you find your listeners like the most in interviews? Is there a format you find works best?
Yes backstory, standard questions but customized to that particular guest, can do a lightening round, favorite things, quotes, book, ppl to follow, etc.
Favorite things listeners like: 3-5 actionable tips, a freebie from the guest, a simple place to find the guest , not 5 places, surprise questions for the guests to get to know them better.
Interview Tips, NOT MUST DO'S
Prep your questions- if you choose to go that route: I DO NOT.
Write your questions in advance, this is helpful in the beginning of your new pod – don’t wing it, even if you are familiar with your guest.Understand they need to know what the heck is going on, so help them with questions if it will help you both.
Do some poking around on your guest, find their website and stalk their blog a bit. Seek out something intriguing on their website to discuss, something different that you have not discussed on your pod yet.
Consider your listener and what may be enticing to them? Can your guest stir up a great conversation? What are the must talk about topics you need to include?
Stick to 5-7 questions, keep it simple incase you want to go off the deep end in a great conversation.
I hope this helps you get started!
